What supplements did she take- yes please post website. Thank you
The CA-125 is not a 100% accurate test and that should be taken into consideration when getting it done. The is a 20% of women who can have false negatives as well as false positives. In my sister's case, this last episode when they went it to remove peristomal hernia and abdominal hernias they did find 3 small implants that were cancer. they feel that they got it all...they did a NEW kind of CA-125 and it's called DA-125 II, and is supposed to be more accurate for those who have false neg and pos tests before with the normal ca-125. When they opened her up and did the reg test, it only was 37..they were looking at the cancer and knew she had it, and the test was almost normal...when they drew the CA-125II on this last admission it was slightly raised, but on reading info about it, one thing that can cause it to elevate is abdominal surgery..DUH??? she will have that repeated next Tues....when her's goe's above 30, they get alarmed...She has lived 6 yrs with Stage IV ovarian cancer and the doctors are opening admiting that they had nothing to do with ,but GOD is the one who has kept her alive, since she's had no furture treatment....one oncologist told her that no one lives 6 yrs with platinum resistant stage IV ovarian cancer, only God could have kept her here...other than surgeries every 3 yrs or so, she's healthy and works as a hospice chaplain....She is now taking a supplement that is known to kill cancer cells..If anyone would like info, I can post her website...it's make with Georgian (repuplic of Georgia in Russia) If you can get the book, "100 & Healthy" get it and read it and then let me know if you want her website..she became a distributor..it's not cheap but it's something her surgeon recommended to her when she told him she wanted to go the natural route...Rebecca
I sorry, I have to ask some questions. Was your mother's CA 125 elevated at the time her OVCA was diagnosed? Mine has never been elevated except right after surgery, and it quickly returns to normal limits within 2 chemos. I was told that they will continue to monitor the CA 125 because it may start to elevate at some point in time. Good luck to your Mom and she is lucky to have you looking out for her
Marie
Hi there...many things elevate the CA125.....a cold, a chest cold....it is good news the tumor has shrunk. I have not heard of anyone's CA125 rising because of chemo but maybe someone else has. The CA125 isn't a good marker for every one.....if your mom is feeling well that is what you should concentrate on.....is her gyn concerned? Some of us have to accept the fact that this stupid disease is a chronic situation; meaning it will never go away completely and we will just have to keep it under control. That is a scary thought, I know, but for some of us it is reality. I hope your family has a wonderful Holiday Season....please give our best wishes to your mom!
Peace.
