Elevated CA125

by JanieOC, Aug 15, 2005 12:00AM
I had surgery 1 yr. ago. They did a clean debulking of my lower abdomin (abdomen),removing 2 large tumers and multiple small tumers, also removing a layer of fatty tisue. I went through chemo which I finished in Jan 2005. I just had a CT Scan which showed everything normal.Last week the day befor the scan I had blood work done which showed the CA125 was elevated to 57. I know this is above normal . Can you tell me what would have caused that to be elevated. Thanks JanieOC

A number of situations can cause an elevated CA-125 level, including infections, illnesses, and liver disease.
