Elevated liver functions - gall bladder or liver?

Don't know if this is an "ovarian" question, but I have posted here before, and your answers are very helpful. Hx: close to 5 yr. remission from 1C OVCA, recurred 3 small localized areas, surgically removed 5/30/06. 6 rds. taxol/carbo - CA ranging from 4 to 6. Have just completed 6th rd. 1 yr. maint. CA at 6, feeling good; but AST and LDH came back elevated.  Spoke with onc. and she suggested I see my PCP to take me off of Lipitor ASAP (which I have been on for several years)My platelets were also elevated and she said that could would to othe elevation of LDH, and of course the toxicity of the chemo on my liver is her main concern. She does not seem alarmed about it, but of course, I am a nervous wreck. I also have concern in the fact that I have had a severe amount of gas and flatulance (sp?) over the past 8 or 9 months, and just last week have developed ache under my right rib cage that sometimes radiates toward my back. The area is not tender to touch, but rib is sore.  Sometime if I lay on my stomach, my back spasms under the right rib cage. I'm wondering if it is in fact my gallbladder that is causing these symptoms.  Should I worry that there is liver damage?  I am seeing my surgeon on May 1, a CT scan on May 3, and trtment. #7 on May 8.  What do you make of this, and how would you advice me to proceed?  Once again, thank you for taking the time to do this service for all of us.
God Bless :) Judie

Dear Judie,
I agree with your doctor. stop the Lipitor and see your PCP. I agree with a follow up CT scan as well. Also you should review any otehr medications , herbs, or vitamins. there are some herbs that causes elevations in the liver enzymes. It would be extremely unusual for those blood test abnormalities to be a signal your cancer is back
best wishes

Oops, sorry....
Forgot to mention that the ache in the rib area and back is a "burning" ache, and also last CT scan done on Jan 26 (I have them every 3 months) was fine.  This seems to be an "acute" happening.  Thanks again!
