Endometiosis after menopause?

by safi, Aug 29, 2004 12:00AM
For the last ten days or so I have been woken up in the early hours of the morning with intense pain in the area of my left ovary . This persist until half hour or so after I get up and start walking around. However I have great difficulty getting from a lying position to sitting up to get out of bed because of the pain, even turning over is painfull.I am a 48 year old woman with two teenages. Istopped mensturating two years ago with only a scant showing about one year ago One week ago unable to get an appointment with my GP I attended ER as the pain was so severe .However in waiting to be seen the pain went.I was told I possibly had IBS and it was certainly not gyny. I am not convinced as its a similar pain to when  I had Endo except that was constant pain and over seveteen years ago. One week later and my abdomin (abdomen) is swollen especially my levtf side.I had always thought that endometriosis and ovarian cyst and fibroids were no longer an issue after the menopause. I do have an appointment with my Gp but not for another nine daysI guess I am thinking that it can't be anything other than ovarian cancer. If it is and the pain being so intense have I caugt it early? Thank you
