Endometrial Biopsy Normal - What next

by lvfrogs, Oct 29, 2009 07:14AM
Those of you new to this forum will wonder why I am posting here, but those that know me,will understand. I have questions for my friends on here and I know they can help me decide what to do.
As you see, my endometrial biopsy came back normal.  As you know, I still have all my symptoms and no one, not the gastro doctor or the gyn can figure it out.  My gyn wants to wait 3 months, do the TVUS again and then decide.
I am getting desperate. I would like to call my gyn and set up an appt. I don't know that I can wait 3 months again. Part of me wants to just say "hell, with it" and wait and do nothing.
The other part says, "why wait", you are miserable, let's get some answers.
So, my question to you all, is this:  Do I go in an ask for a lapartomy to take a look around? or go ahead and ask for a hysterectomy?  What would you all do in my shoes?
For those that can't remember, my symptoms are: extreme bloating (eat very little and bloat immediately - bloated when I wake up in the morning), constipated, extreme fatigue, urinary problems, pain in my left groin area.  Gained 25 pounds in last year w/o eating normal, eat little. The bloating is just about to drive me nuts.
Any help is great, thank you everyone!

I am so sorry you still do not have any answers.  Why does the gyn want to repeat the TVUS, did they see something there before?  Sorry I am not remembering the results from that ultrasound.  You have to be so frustrated not knowing what is wrong especially since the symptoms are still there. Let me know I think I will send you a pm.

Love,
Dawnlyn

My dear, the cyst has been there for over a year.  Another 3 months is not going to give the doctors any more information than they have today.  You've suffered long enough.  At the very least the cyst has to come out and be biopsied, but if they're going in, why not get rid of it all so you don't have any more worries in that area.  You need this resolved and need some peace of mind.  Don't play with fire, let's be sure it is not malignant and rule it out so you at least know what it is not.

Colleen, I agree with Trudie.  I would ask for the look-see at the very least but discuss the hysto.  Enough is enough.

As you well know, when I asked for the laparotomy then magically my gyn started talking hysto.  But...I had to go in there and ask.  Hmmm.

I really wish you all the best.  We started this together and now it's been over a year since my hysto and you are still suffering.  I don't like that.

Dear Colleen,
Waiting another 3 months is totally unacceptable, its not them having to put up with those symptoms day in and day out so they keep fobbing you off. I believe that you deserve some answers sooner rather than later. Your body has been telling you somethings not right for too long now , you need a laporoscopy to see if  theres anything going on that can,t be seen on the TVUS.  I really feel sorry that after all of  this time you are still without answers, its just so frustrating and I would feel like screaming! .

Thank you everyone. You are all right and sometimes I just need to hear that too. I start second guessing myself all the time after everything that has happened. Sometimes I need that push to push myself. I will call today and make an appt. Will let you all know what happens.
On the gastro side, I did start that medication I was worried about. So far, no bad side effects, just heartburn. But also, no change either.
Thank you again!!
Love,
Colleen

you have waited and suffered enough. its time to get some answers from your drs, or find new ones who will step up and do what needs to be done. Yes its scary, but not knowing is worse. this has been going on since we started talking, and probably before that. no more fooling around, have them get down to buisness. I'll be here, for you no matter what. lol
