Endometriosis Biopsy

I was referred to a GYN when I became pre-menopausal.   The Gyn said that everything looks fine but there is only one way to be sure by taking the endometriosis biopsy.   I am opposed to unnecessary invasive medical procedures but decided to have this procedure done.  My doctor told me it was optional but didn't sound as if she would be alarmed.    I have no history of cancer in my family.    Should I go through with this procedure.

endometrial biopsy is a minor procedure to sample the lining of the uterus - the endometrium. this is indicated if there is abnormal bleeding or discharge or there is   a finding on a pelvic ultrasound suggesting an abnormally thick endometrial lining.
