Endometrium Biopsy Results

How long does it general take for endometrium biopsy results to come back?  If it is abnormal would the doctor probably have you come in sooner than your schedule appointment?

It's been over two weeks-and I still haven't received my results from the biopsy. Guess I'll call back this week. I don't know if the rule no news is good news-since the lab may keep the tissue longer to run more extensive tests if they find anything abnormal to findout exactly what it may be. I'll let you know too...

i had my test/surgery done on the 11th, but I had 6 different biopsys done. My appt is on the 26th. Yes, the morning after Christmas rather than shopping this year I will be sitting in my doctor's office, nausious from all the worry about my results. Cancer runs in every woman in my family, and so far I'm the worst case yet for us and I haven't even been giving a diagnosis of cancer yet. I'm preparing myself though, I'm ready. If it is cancerous, you have to look at the bright side of things. The way I see it, maybe I'll get lucky and all my hair will fall out so I can buy a wig. Think about it, wouldn't you love to be able to fix your hair and see the back, and not have to keep your arms up in the air all that time? See, it does have its positives!

I had mine done on the 23rd and I'm still waiting.  I was told one to two weeks for the results.

I feel really lucky, but I received my results back the next day.  I was told I wouldn't have them until Friday or Monday.
The waiting is the hard part.

I don't know exactly. At work (in the US - I don't know if processing is different in other countries, or regions) most Bx or pathological reports come back in about an average of 4 business days.  Then, depending on how many other reports the doc is dealing with it could take another day or two for him/her to evaluate it.  All this, of course while you're at home fretting!

Then, they will prioritize based on severity.  My experience is, if it is bad news they'll get you in right away.  If the result is normal you may not even hear anything until your appt which is already scheduled.  In other words, no news in good news.  But, of course if you are worried you can call and ask.  But be sure to give is several days for the result to be reported.  Then again, my gyn - in a not so busy practice - called me with the good news of NEGATIVE as soon as it was avaiable.  SO, really, it depends on the provider and how busy they are. You may be able to get eh report yourself prior to waitign fo the doc to call by contacting the medical records department.  Godspeed to you! Hoping it is WNL - within normal limits.
