Hi, I am a surgical nurse working in an operating room. Based on your pelvic sonogram results. It is basically indicating that your have an enlarged myomas with large cyst. I had worked with Gynecologic surgeons operating on patients with myomas as huge as the size of a football. Currently, most of them (surgeons) used the laparoscopic procedures which will convert to open if they have difficulty manipulating the instruments involved or if the patient has an unusual anatomical layout of the uterus, and ovaries. Your report stated that due to large myoma, it suggested a surgery to take out the huge myoma and drain out the cyst fluid. I hope that helps.
Hi, I am a 52 year old female who has had fibroids in the past. I also have a hx. of an ovarian cyst, which apparently broke in August of 2008 sending me to the hospital with severe pain. CT scan showed a large mass of free fluid. I was just at the hospital again for severe pain which was similar to the cyst bursting except for the fact that the pain radiated to the back. CT scan shows a slightly prominent uterus measuring about 7x7cm., which can represent leiomyomatous change. Is this a problem that I should consult with my Ob/Gyn immediately or should I not be so concerned at this point? No free fluid was seen on the CT scan this time around. Please give me some advice as to what to do?
