Well went thru 8 core biopseys and 1 surgical biopsey, come to find out  didnt get a  core of the mass, so another biopsey is sched for this coming fri, less than 2 weeks  from the last ones done. Then we go from there. starting to feel like a dart board for sure. Thinking about mastectomy, but  finding a Doctor that will agree to it is going to be hard. The problem is 24 core & 4 surgical Biop in 5 years and I had a hyst. over 15 years ago, stopped harmones about 8 years ago, and all the changes are going on. Not sure where to go from here.

Hi there

How stressful for you!

It sounds like your family doctor is a keeper. You need someone to help guide you through your concerns. My only other suggestion is for you to ask your doctor about genetics testing. If you have the BRCA 1 or 2 gene mutations, there are other options that some women are considering including prophylactic mastectomies with breast reconstruction. Ask your doctor or the breast surgeon about a consultation with a genetic counselor to go over your family history

best wishes to you
