Feeling devastated

What will you do if you are in my place?I have no pelvic problems....all test normal ...Now ...  I was told I have ovarian cyst and multiple fibroids....The recomendation  is Total Abdominal Hysterectomy...therefore I consented....but when they open they found NO ovarian cyst...only fibroids...but they still performed Total Abdominal hysterectomy.  The reason of the doctor...he cannot removed the fibroids if she will not remove the ovaries...

I feel devastated up to now. Do I need a Lawyer or Counseling?

Geez,  Personally, I would consult a Lawyer.  It could only help you.  Did they ever confirm cyst & fibroids on and Ultra Sound or CT Scan?????  I have a fibroid and  was told that they will NEVER remove them unless they are hurting you or causing harm to other organs.

CT Scan and ultrasound suggest ovarian mass with multiple Fibroids.....non visualization of the left and right ovaries because of the fibroids........

If I knew,there were no mass I will not consent of TAH.

Even if you do research on other sites, it is not recommended to do surgery on fibroids that are not causing any harm/pain-  did your doc state that they were harming you?

She did not say fibroids are harming me......I really regret a lot because when we're about to go to the hospital, I told my husband I dont't like hysterectomy....I don't know why I consented......My husband is really nervous about this ovarian mass....they made me nervous too....Anyway,

when I had my appt with this doc. to check up my surgery, I gave her a letter telling her what I feel about the TAH..telling her all my mistakes....The pain I feel not of the sore  but the pain of bad decision I have made for my self...and this is TAH.

I have never been in  hospital, never had a surgery...I had no major illnesses...My Goodness now I have TAH...I really feel bad.
I sacrificed very important activities this summer,2005..like going back in my home country while school is out.
