First GYN Oncologist appt - what to expect

My first appt with gyn oncologist is tomorrow.  Can you tell me what to expect?

It's been a long three weeks since my gyn's nurse called me about being referred.  I'm premenopausal, have an elevated CA 125 (256) and bilateral cysts that are at least partially solid.  I did not get copies of my CT and ultrasound report since they called me on the phone but tomorrow's dr does have the report.  I am worried that there is something on the reports other than what my dr told me...

Be sure to ask the new doctor for copies of the reports.  You're entitled to them, and you'll be glad you have a record of all the tests and reports as you go along.  

At my first meeting with the gyn onc, he talked with me and my husband about my situation and recommended scheduling surgery.  I believe he also did a brief exam, including a pap as I had not had one for awhile.  By the way, the pap checks for cervical cancer, not ovarian.  If you've had a recent colonoscopy, he may be interested in the results -- you may need the doctor's name for him in that regard.  I think I filled out a pretty thorough history, too.

Thanks - my appt went well overall.  I burst into tears when the nurse started taking my medical history but then the nurse and dr were both very good at calming my fears.  I'll have surgery near the end of the month.  Kepp me in your prayers until then.
