Fluid in Pouch of Douglas?!

Hello

I've just had a scan that showed multiple bilateral ovarian cysts 4mm-6mm in size with one larger cyst measuring 2.1cm. I was also told there is minimal fluid in the pouch of Douglas.

I had the scan following several weeks of pain in both ovaries - although it began with a sharp, twisting pain on just one side.

I'm 31 and I've no idea what all this means! Is it PCOS (I was diagnosed with that 10 years ago but it's never caused me any problems apart from a bit of unwanted hair - which has increased slightly in the last year)? Or something more serious? The doctor seems unconcerned (but then she suggested I had IBS and chlamydia until I pushed for a scan)!

Any thoughts or help - ideally reassurance - greatly appreciated!

Best wishes to you all.
