Deandra is so right.. Luckily for me , my Gyno. takes the stance that anything suspicious should be investigated !! Anything!! Afraid some of the doctors don't agree with this unfortunately. Better to be safe than sorry !!!
And Deandra, I'm wishing you all the very best for your total recovery from this monster ! ,
Sandy
I would get it checked out regardless. You should never leave anything unusual or suspect alone as time can be of the essense. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes. With love, DEandra
Hi,
I had the same thing exactly a few months ago. I had the ultrasound to check on pain in the ovary and the fluid was discovered along with 2 fibroids. I also had a very small ovarian cyst.. but back to the fluid: my Gyn. explained that when we go through menopause, the cervix sort of "closes up".. Sometimes fluid just gets "trapped" in there. She wanted to do a D&C to investigate of course and check on the fibroids as well since I'm a little old for those. I also was having the ovary removed.. She did the D&C, it was just "mucus" and was checked for any odd "cells. All was o.k. Seems it's not really that uncommon but should be checked. But everything was biopsied , ovary removed through laparoscopy and D&C performed.. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but I'd def. see a Gyn.. Good luck..Sandy P.S... I'm also 69
Any gynealogical abnormaility should be invesitgated by gyn/onc. I have had both endometrial and ovarian cancer.
My endometrial cancer was found in the course of fertility investigations and I also had no pain or obvious sympton.
I suggest you get a refferal to a gyn/onc as soon as possible (because they are the best people to do these sort of investigations) to help put your mind at rest.
Good Luck to you
