Hi Dr.Goodman

This is the biopsy report of the tumor removed from my sisters overies. The Doctor says not to do a chemo since he had removed the whole tumor.

But what we should do?? look for another doctor?? or just wait and see??

Speciemen : A - TAH / BSO.B - Omentum.

Macroscopy : A - Uters and Cervix 5 x 4.5 x 3 cmwith right overy 3cm diameter. Also present a separate ovarian tumer partially opened15x15x6cm.

: B - Omentum 30x5x2cm.

Microscopy A - Cervix – Squamous metaplasia seen in the cervical transformation zone. There is no dysplasia.


Uterus – The endometrium is non reactive.
The myometrium appears normal.
Right Overy – normal

Left Ovarian Tumer - The tumer is composed of malignant epithelial cells forming glands.
Cells containing intracytoplasmic mucin present.
Some areas show featurers of a benign Brenner tumour.  

B – No metastatic deposits seen in omentum.

Conclusion : Ovarian tumour moderatelydifferentiated mucinous cyst adenocarcinoma of ovaryand benign Brenner tumour. Normal Uterus , Cervix and Right Ovary.

This must be a scary and frustrating situation for both you and your sister. Dr. Goodman will be able to give you sound advice and support. Althugh I am not a doctor, a 2nd opinion from a gynoncologist would most certainly be appropriate. Please let us know what happens!
