Hello, well gemzar didn't work for me, my cancer was still growing. I don't know if it is the cancer or the gemzar but I lost eight pounds and have been really sick. The CT scan showed I had more cancer then my PET/CT scan in February. I am trying to get into one of two NCI trials and still fight with the insurance company for Avastin. Since Aetna approved Avastin for ovarian my doctor feels she maybe able to get it approved this time around. The mass in my stomach muscle is being radiated in hopes the pain will go away. This is the first time I haven't been able to get around and do my normal day to day things. I just hope things start to get better.
I am glad to hear your feeling better and hope your able to get some of your gardening done, my husband said this weekend he will plant some flowers for me. At this point I don't really care, but I have been the one taking care of the house and grounds ever since I got sick and haven't worked. Your right this chemo is just making me real tired.
Good luck and my prayer are with you.
Diane
Hi Kimchee,
This past Friday was the second cocktail. The second was better than the first. The first was yucky stomach, achy and with fever cold chills (better than hot) and being tired. This weekend was better. I just ordered an iron supplement in hopes that I won't need that procrit (Nature's Plus chewable with C). I know iron feeds cancer but when it gets low we need a little help!
Hope you enjoyed the water festival!
Hi Diane B,
How are you doing on Gemzar? Did you have OK results with your CT scan? This prolonged chemo wears you out. I've been on and off since last year and hoping I can do my gardening this summer. A little at a time.
It's a beautiful day--time to get outside.
