Further drop in CA.125 :-)

Further drop in CA.125 :-)

Hello All...Just wanted to mention that after chemo No.6 my  latest CA.125 is now 360.... another drop of 220. So, after the 6 treatments it's dropped from 7500 to 360... and I am just so pleased, as I didn't think I would see this after it being so high. Now that it's 'on the run' my Oncol. is lining me up for treatment 7 next Wednesday... and may even go to No. 8 if the numbers are still on the slide.
Still some way to go to catch some of you other girls with the low numbers :-).... but one never knows. Time for some red wine, chocolate, and icecream. ;-)
Wishing each and everyone of you a good weekend...hope the sun is shining in your state, and you are all feeling well..Helmar.

That's great...It's amazing who much we still bank on those numbers even though it is not always reliable..Just wondering what makes our numbers so different from one another???  I was sweating bullets with a 3 digit number and I am stage 4, yet your numbers WERE in the 4 digit range!?!?
Yes the sun is blaring here, haven't stop perspiring all day. You deserve a break, so I hope you  enjoy your wine, chocolate and ice-cream treat and have a great weekend

yay!!! i'm happy for you ....that is some signifcant progress!  We just found out with my mom that her clinical trial (or maybe even the maitake supplements) mader her drop recently from a rise going up to 700's down to the 300's.  didn't get chemo this week yet because her potassium was too low but should be on track next week

How wonderful, Helmar!  That really is a drastic drop, so I'm really hoping that means you are well on your way to being cancer free!  Enjoy your weekend of celebration.  Woohoo!!  :) :) :)

Helen,

Great news! It is a good sign that you are not resistant to these drugs. Yes, celebrate with that chocolate and I'll have a piece of apple pie tonight thinking of you!

That pie was good.  I don't have sweets on an every day basis but I am in agreement with you that while we're on this earth, let's enjoy. I was tired today having done Gemzar Friday. I was fine over the weekend just being a little "brain dead." It hit me today so I slept it off. I know this drug didn't work with you and it seems as if it doesn't do much for others but I can only hope. I'll be having a CA count in a few weeks but my doctor says we won't really know until 2 months. As you know this is how it goes. Were you on it two months?

Take care, Helen

Hi Helen... I hope the Gemzar works for you, as I've heard if it works, then it will do a good job. My biggest problem  with Gemzar was it stuffed up my blood... I only had it for a short time, but I needed infusions for both platelets, and red cells. Like, I don't mind side affects, if it's working, but to go through this and it doesn't work.... well....
Keep on eye on your platelets.
Wishing you the best... and hoping for great news. Let's know how it goes eh?    warm hugs..Helen...
