Thanks Doctor,
She has got the F.N.A.C test and found Adenocarcinoma. In ultrasound, it came as mild ascites (Small amount of free fluid seen in pelvis area).
Sometime back(3 Weeks), she has got rupture in the tumor. Doctor has taken out the fluid from Stomach. On testing the fluid, no malignancy found in it. But CA125 was 22,000.
Tumor size was reduced because of rupture. Doctor still suggested Chemo so She is undergoing chemo as of now but her tumor size is growing (Not sure if fluid is again coming in it) or tumor itself is growing.
Any suggestions please? Appreciate your help.
Hi There
Has your mother had a biopsy of her tumor to be sure it is malignant?
CA 125 can be elevated in heart disease so without a tissue biopsy, I would not say based on the CA 125 alone that this is cancer.
In general for an invasive ovarian cancer in someone who has significant heart disease, we would give a few cycles of chemo first to shrink it up
If this is a benign or borderline tumor, chemo will not help and either watching it for growth or surgery would be the options.
please let us know more details about the tumor
Also do you have another information from her scan. Are there s signs of ascites or growths anywhere else?
thank you
