Ginger treatment for Ovarian cancer

Hi, I just would like to know whether is anybody out there still using ginger as their daily intake. Any success stories to share.
I would like to use ginger at high dose to tackle a possible recurrence of OVCA IIIC before take any chemo treatment. By the way, I was dx Dec'06 and recent CA125 is 33.
Thanks.Eddy.

I have started a capsule that is 1000mg (high potency) ginger. Make sure you get something as potent if you are to take supplements :) you go ladies! fight this bloody disease, as my mum says to me all the time, your body controls it, dont let it control your body :)

Sorry, wasn't trying to discourage you from taking it...in-fact it's not bad to take at all...but just adding it to your diet via food is not enough, you will probablly have to take concentrated pill/capsule forms to increase it's effectiveness.  There are also other supplements you can take that can help (see my profile page).

I asked Univ of Michigan about their Ginger study a few months ago and it's completely stalled...they are not even researching it anymore...discouraging to say the least.

Hi, I personally feel excited about your post. I have more questions to ask. like, how you get the cream, how you applied to your ututerus, etc. I would like to send you Email about it. If you can let me know your Email by return.
You are right, if ginger works wonder in lab enviironment by applying to it directly, we should try to apply the same method when treating our body as well.
Thank you. Eddy.

Hi Guys,
Just started using a ginger cream that my naturopath did up for me, just mixed high potent concentrate ginger into a cream for me. I have been applying it directly onto my ututerus area daily and I can honestly say it has helped with my regular gabbing pains and also my bloating which i believe is due to its anti inflammatory properties. I feel better especially my bladder and bal which were affected by all my surgery.

Thanks Kimchi will look at archives now.

Much luv to all you beautiful ladies.

I'm interested in what you find on ginger.  I've also read the studies.  Pretty new to all of this but starting major complementary medicines a few days after my 3rd treatment of carbo/taxol.

Ginger is good...period...:)....but if you are doing this due to the Univ. of Michigan study about Ginger and it's effects on Ovarian Cancer just know that was a small, In Vitro (petrie dish) study and the compound was put directly on the cells (you'll find in alternative ovarian cancer research that virtually *any* compound they have put on ovarian cancer makes it die...so...).

If you will take Ginger, simply look for 'pill' form / capsule which can contain a more 'concentrated' dosage...because ginger in your diet may not be as much that is (*possibly*) needed.

Hi,
What do you believe has kept your ca125 down? Was it Kemo treatment?
I actually just got on to post a new thread about ginger. I currently have stage IIIA LMP borderline OVCA and my ca125 has recently increased. I have found a number of articles on ginger which has proven that ginger powder in solution when applied directly to OVCA cells causes them to committ suicide and also make them not resistant to kemo. (Which is great news for recurrences and women having problems with kemo)
I was currently having small amounts in vegetable juices every day but I am about to go out today and buy strong ginger powder.

I am also seeing my specialist tomorrow about applying the solution directly to the cells in my utuerus and my one ovary left. (I know this may sound crazy but applying it directly is what the research is based on and has to work better and quicker than taking it orally). Seeing there are no side affects it cant hurt to try especially in my particular case.

I will keep you updated and let you know how I go.

Here are some of the articles I found (All from america though and I'm in Australia) otherwise I would try and contact the research facilities to volunteer for some trials.

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/41747.php (or google- ginger kills ovarian cancer cells).

Best of luck
