Gone to Heaven

Hi Everybody,

My name is Chandra, I am Steph's sister.  I am very sad to report that Stephanie died on Dec. 22.  She died peacefully surrounded by her family.  Thanks to all you whose stories and support gave her hope.  She NEVER gave up on life and I know that she would want you all to keep striving and fighting.  Her life was and remains proof of what the power of HOPE can do.

Chandra, I am so sorry for your loss.  When I first saw the post I noticed only Stephers name as I had not yet read the subject line...and, I just thought it was nice to see such a familiar name. Then I read the subject. There are no words really, are there? And, I have been weepy today for some reason, so I will shorten this as I am sure you have had your share of tears this week.

I just want to say that it was so kind of you to think of letting us know this news, though, as sad as it is. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Hoping you can find comfort in the fact that Stephanie's death was peaceful and that you were all able to be with her....

Just yesterday I was thinking about all the women on here and saying Christmas prayers for them all.  I thought about Stephanie, and I realized it has been a long time since I saw a post from her.  I was going to make a post about where she was and if anyone had heard from her.  I am SOOO sorry to hear of your loss, and it saddens me  from the bottom on my heart.  I know she is in a place where she is free from the pain that was bothering her recently.  I am sooo glad she died peacefully with family around.  She made it to heaven right in time for Christmas!  As sad as that seems to us, I think it is a blessing for her.  May you and  your family find peace with time.  God bless you.  Shannon

I'm with Mary...I saw her name in the subject line and was hoping it was a message from Stephanie checking in with us.  I am so saddened to hear of your loss.  I know her last few posts, she spoke of feeling some pain and had asked about pain management.  It doesn't make her passing any easier, but I am relieved to hear her passing was peaceful and that she was able to spend her last moments with those who loved her.  Her life was a testament to not only hope, but courage, inspiration, and the will to keep fighting.

I don't even know what to type. I'm so overcome with sadness about hearing this...I can't stop crying. I felt like Stephanie and I had a special bond because we were some of the "young ones" with this awful disease. We had actually had several conversations about our struggles. A couple of months ago, Stephanie asked if she could send me one of the bracelets she makes to raise money for ovarian cancer. I was blown away at how beautiful it was...I wear it almost every day and recieve so many complements on it. I'm just...speechless. I still have one of her emails sitting in my email account. How can this happen? Why?? I'm so sorry for your loss...my heart is breaking...I'm sorry. I just don't know what else to say...

You are right in saying she fought, and never gave up hope..She didnt lose, Cancer won. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I really don't know what to say except that I am so honored to have formed a friendship with your sister. She was an inspiration to those who have ever had to deal with the terrible type of Ovarian cancer she fought everyday. I know she raised somewhere around $3,000. for Ovarian cancer Canada with her braclet sells and she was so proud to be able to do that & we are so proud & thankful for her. Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Thank you so much for letting us know.  Sometimes people just don't come on anymore and we wonder.
I am so sorry that your family has to go through such a sad time.  Life is so full of pain.  I too had hoped this was news from her when I saw her name.  She was always very kind and supportive to all of us.  Well, we lost an angel and heaven has gained one.  I will tell you what I tell my family I want them to do after I am gone. Grieve, cry, miss me and than go on with your life.  Live a little extra for me.  So do that for Steph.  Live a little extra for her.  She will be missed Chandra, and your family will be in my prayers.
