Granulosa cell recurrence

Granulosa cell recurrence

I was diagnosed with GCT in July,2000. I had a TAH/BSO, omentectomy. I have Inhibin A screenings every 6 months.
If GCT were to recur, where does it?  Is there a connection between GCT and any other types of cancer? I have a first degree family history of colon cancer and a paternal aunt with breast cancer.
Are there any other screenings I should be having?
Thanks!

Little A, I was diagnosed with granulosa cell tumor in Feb. 2003, stage 1a. I believe it usually reccurs in the abdominal, pelvic area. On the ovca.net site there is a discussion board with a thread specifically for GCT. I would recommend participating. Since GCT is so rare and has a tendency to reccur up to 30 years after dx. not much is known about it because of lack of long term studies. I have learned so much from all the women on the discussion board. The ones who have had recurrences seem to have them on the colon, liver, bladder, etc. From these knowledgable people, I have learned of and become part of a study at Massachusetts General Hospital using MIS levels as a marker for recurrences. Please join us on the ovca.net site - you'll learn a lot! Also, I just found out I have the BRCA1 mutation, my mother and 2 aunts had epithelial ovca, another aunt had breast cancer and 2 cousins had bladder cancer. You may want to look into genetic counseling. Take care.
