Granulosa cell tumor of the ovary -- what is the standard treatment?

Dear Dr,
On November 3rd, I had a subtotal hysterectomy and removal of my right ovary and fallopian tubes to treat my uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts.  Just last week, I learned that the pathology report on the right ovary showed a 3 cm granulosa cell tumor of the ovary.  There was no other evidence of malignancy in fallopian tube or uterus. My doctor (gynecological oncologist) said that I should just have twice a year blood tests for inhibin levels, and no chemotherapy is recommended at this time.
Because there was no evidence of cancer before my surgery, there was no staging performed.  The pathology report stated that the mitotic count in the granulosa cell tumor is approximately 13 mitoses per 10 high-power fields, which I think is high? The doctor said that there was no evidence of rupture of the ovary during the procedure.  They did not do any biopsy of my lymph nodes nor any pelvic washings.

I am wondering if I should push to have a staging procedure?  It seems like these types of tumors are not as aggressive as standard ovarian cancers, but chemotherapy is recommended for stage 2?

Hi There
do you still have your left ovary?

if so, at some point yu should have that removed
but I agree with you doctor. These tumors are hormone secreting- estrogen, inhibin are blood tests that we commonly get

if those are normal, there is no need for further surgery
best wishes
