Great News CA-125

I would just like to say I got some great news today regarding my sisters cancer. CA-125 started at 195 first chemo went to 95, 2 weeks into first chemo, and now is 18.9 13 days after second chemo. I am so happy as what we have been through from compressed ureters, blocked sigmoid, recto-vaginal fistula, hell in the hospital, etc., that some good news has finally arrived. The real kicker was the CT scan 11 days after surgery stating a 10 cm mass had grown back yet the surgery report said "bulk of disease removed". She was now labeled a "special" case, whatever that means. With prognosis based on stage, 2C, and bulk after surgery prior to chemo?, apparently a lot, we were all scared to death. I really don't know what the CA-125 means but I hope it means she is almost cancer free and can then get that horrible, painful, fistula fixed. I don't believe the mass was all cancer although a grade 3 can grow back fast. It looks like Carb/Taxol for Enometrioid, grade 3, stage 2C is working well in this case. Hope the number stays low and she has a good chance at a long remission. This forum has provided a lot of good info and hope and I just want to say thanks. I will keep reading and hope new and better treatments will be available soon. Prayer is always welcome and given. God bless.

It's always heartfelt to hear great news! After all your sister went through, I am happy for her. I am sure it put you through so much stress so it came as such a relief. Now's the time for her to take it easy and rent funny movies. I am signed up with Netflix and I highly recommend it. You can find so many movies and they arrive in your mailbox. I just watched some old reruns of "I Love Lucy."

Good luck and I pray for everyone on this site. Your sister is in my prayers.

And now it's very important to watch yourself. My sister had breast cancer and then two years later I get ovarian.

That's great news for your sister and your family. I hope she continues to do well, and will eventually go into a good and long remission. She's done really well after only two treatments, so that's great.
Wishing you all the best....Helmar..
