HRT

by Mishelle, Jun 23, 2006 12:00AM
I am about 4 days post op and waiting for final path report. I am still wondering what kind of fluid ovaries were encased in but I guess wont know until follow up wednesday. The thing I was wondering though is do I have to do hormone replacement therapy? I am 34. When do menopausal sx usually start? Thanks. Erika&name=Mishelle

I spoke to my doctor today about the same thing.

He told me to wait until pathology was through.

But he did say that at if he was facing the same operation at 45 he would have HRT for five years because of bone density.

You are much younger and would therefore need to consider having some sort of HRT program - there is always one to fit despite the pathology reports.

Best wishes to you.

Hi,
My doctor recommended approx. 7 years (I'm 58) because there's osteoporosis, but no heart disease or breast cancer, in my family. I think a lot of factors have to be taken into account, especially your age.

Dear ladies.
I am 47 and had hysterectomy(ovarian cancer). I refused to take HRT because they are unsafe. Your doctor will tell you need them for certain reasons. Before accepting "poison" take "Black Kohosh"herb...it helps. Takes longer for your body to accept this herb but helps a lot. I am taking it faithfully and have fewer hot flushes and my bones are PERFECT.NO SIDE EFFECTS.
One cancer is enough I don't want to get another one because of HRT.By the way progesterone is what we should be worried about not estrogen. Did you know that???? I just found out from my MD.
Ask yours.
