Help me with Ovarian Cancer

Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer, I took 4 mths of taxol-carbo chemo threopy then sergury and then 4 more mths of the theropy. I was told I was in clinical remission, 4 weeks later I was told that the cancer was back and that there was no cure for this cancer. So they put me on Doxil so this would at least let me live for maybe 7 years.
Now they tell mw that the cancer has spread from 2 tumors to 4. There is 2 at the end of the scar that are 10 & 11 cm. 1 in the tissue in my stomach 12 cm and there is 1 that has grown to the inside of my liver that is 15 cm. He told me that I might live an other 6 mths, or maybe 2 years if my insurance company approves the use of Avastin. Can you give me more info on any thing that may help. Thank you

most likely that you will get approved for using Avastin as third line of treatment.  It has happened to me.  There are still more options for you even you don't get approval. May be seeking second opinion if you have any doubts about your current dr.

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this awful cancer.  Our lives should not depend on insurance companies giving the approval on drugs we need.  I am on Avastin for ymy cancer.  I am stable with the many tumors I have, but Avastin did not shrink my tumors.  Call or have your cancer center call to get you help getting the drugs you need.  They sometimes help those unable to afford the chemo drugs.  Our healthcare here is so unfair and I have huge doubts that it will be getting any better in my lifetime.  I wish you the best.  I am so sick every time someone is diagnosed with ANY cancer, but especially ovarian cancer.  Marie
