Here goes.... HELP?!?!?!?

I am glad to have found this.  Basically, my question is, how long can it take for a tumor to grow/progress from cells?  How long in between can you go and be concerned for followups?  Now, the long end:

I have been having bouts of diverticulits for about a year.  In there, I kept saying, I have this other pain that NEVER goes away.  It is always there, not extremely painful unless alot of movement in a day, but there, nonethless.  My GI guy said probably a cyst.  (I know cysts and though, possible, not likely) so, to prove him wrong (hopefully, not), I had a TA ultrasound.  I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my ovary.  (I am 45, my father died at 42 of pulmonary embolism, so hence concern).  I was treated with shots, had two more bouts of diverticulitis,  knida given the all clear and have been feeling somewhat better.  Though the time around my periods was getting worse.  Fast forward a bit to the year point of blood clot diagnosis.  I go to the dr for a sinus infection but had been meaning to come in for a nagging, nausea, burining pain in my abdomen, (thinking it is PMS ALL the time) and some weakness.  We did a Lyme test (-) and also CBC.  The CBC showed elevated lipase/amalasye and back to the GI I go.  (mind you, no pain, just the nagging stuff) GI thought I had too many CTs so he recommended endoscopy.  Had that in Feb.  (-).  Here I am again, with a possible diagnosis of diverticulits. The pain is different, constant.  I have not been abe to eat much in the past few weeks but have been enough and not losing weight.  Last month I was told I had an UTI and then told (after sent out), I did not. My insurance just approved a CT scan and I will be making that ppointment today (I hope).  I have a history (aunt on dads side, grandmother on dads side, suspected) Can a tumor not rear its ugly head and be missed since the last TA ultrasound in April 13?  Can this happen?  Can a very small one be missed?  Are these too many symptoms to ignore??    My own research tells me that a blood clot can be a prelude to a cancer.  This is very much the concern or I probably would not be thinking in this drection.  Damn blood clot!    Thanks in advance for any information.  I am just a bit weary of trying to make someone see something if there is nothing to see.  CRAZZZYYYY feeling at the least!!!

Some women are prone to infections. When I was younger I got a UTI about every time I had sex. They put me on a low dose antibiotic all the time. I finally started drinking tons of waster( we bought a water cooler and I gave up sodas)  and lemonade at least once a week. I have not gotten an infection in years.

You know your body the best. I was terribly sick for 5 years. Now I wish I had not been so passive. I bled for two years straight. I would only have two days in between. They did an ablation and that did not work. Then when I stopped bleeding I started throwing up. I lost weight and threw up for over two years. I even ended up in the ER and they said it was a virus. No virus lasts years!. Then for three years I have diaphragm spasms. It was the worst pain I have ever had. I could not breath I would sweat. I could not talk. The first time it was so intense it tore ligaments in my chest. I had a heart work up the first time. They told me it was anxiety except for any doctor who saw me. The spasms started happening all the time.

I was sent to a Gastro. He said I needed no tests all I had was IBS. It took months to see me and thats all he said. I really had a big old tumor blocking my bowel so I threw up because food could not get through.

I finally went to my Primary Doctor and said something is terribly wrong. I do not know what but it is bad. That is when she did the ultra sound and found the Cancer. My doctors dis a conference call and felt really bad they missed it. People especially my PCP's nurse who thought I was a hypochondriac and dramatic now see me as stoic.

No one else will speak up for you. If your gut says there is something really wrong push. Do it politely and without emotion. Say what I did "there is something seriously wrong and I do not have a clue what it is."

It is a shame we have a medical model based on fixing what is broken and a bunch of specialist with blinders on who can only see their part of the human body. You have to know enough to be sent to the right specialist.

I was seeing a Primary Care, a Pain Specialist, a MS Specialist, a Gynecologist (I was in a study so I was monitored closely), a Heart Specialist, GI Specialist, and a ER Doctor and they missed it.

No, I have not had that.  It was mentioned in passing at the time of the clot, but, my GYN thought it might read inaccurate.  I just received word that I have a bacterial infection. I guess that is again.  And I am not going to lie, the antibiotics do give relief.  It just seems that I am not off them long and I am hit with another infection again of some sort.  Like I am masking something.  The pain has subsided but the bloating has gotten worse.  I just wonder if I am blowing all these symptoms out of proportion.  Thanks  and sorry TMI!  ;)

Have they done a CA 125 Cancer marker blood test? A Benign tumor can cause problems if it is large and pushing on things. My tumors had blocked my bowels.
