No. I haven't had that one. Since my cancer is a mucinous tumor type they are treating it as colon cancer with Avastin and 5fu and leucovorin (sp?). They had me on folfox treatment, but the oxaliplatin in that almost killed me. That is no exaggeration. Good luck on Monday. I hope it has worked well for you. I have a few more treatments before they scan to see if mine has helped. I do feel like it has done something. The CEA went down so I guess that is a good sign.
Thank you, I guess I had NED then for about a year, Well have you had doxirubicen? I am on that now will find out Monday if it is working. I have had three treatments now and my markers went up after the first one. I am feeling well and do not have serious reactions from the doxil. Please take care and I too hope that your cancer will stabilize for a long long time like for the rest of your life:) Kerry
NED no evidence of disease I have never has since diagnosis. I have always had some cancer visible on CT that chemo or surgery couldn't get. I was commenting on Linda's NED for 6 yrs.
I am on treatment for the 3rd time. My body has really taken in more than its share of poison! Hopefully the cancer will stablize again for a long time. I hope your treatment is going well. Marie
Hi Marie,
Glad to hear from you, I too have to take breaks but this is where I come to know that I can put it all out there and get the best support. Now what is NED. I am having recurrence, my first and am in treatment. So is that the time you are in between recurrences?
Kerry
6 Years !!!!! Wow. That is cause for celebration. I have never had NED, but am thankful I have been able to live with the cancer over 3 years. Hoping I can keep it going for long time to come. Marie
I'm doing well. Will celebrate 6 years NED on July 28th. Lots of "old lady" issues, but nothing serious considering I use OVCA as a barometer!
Nothing about chemo is easy, but keep thinking positive thoughts and take it one day at a time. Don't focus too much on the big picture; it never turns out like you expected, so it's better to save your strength. I will keep checking in on you.
Linda
Thanks. How are you doing? I feel that the chemo has helped in some of the tumor areas, but I worry most about the ones on my liver. I am just hoping for the best and tolerating the poison as much as possible. Take care.
Marie: Just wanted you to know that I am thinking about you and hopng this new chemo is working.
Linda
Joelle, I may have cancer, but I am a Master of many fake crops in Farmville!!!!! Also have 2 well trained faked Farmville dogs.............Marie
ALways thinking of you Marie, and peeking glimpses of how you are doing on FB. It's good to take breaks and change focus to growing imaginary crops! I wish you weren't here because you are on treatment, but you are, and so I am just wishing you all the best this round.
Take care,
Joelle
Irene, Facebook has been so slow I have cut back too. I do like that crazy Farmville. There is NO CANCER in Farmville!
All I was put back on Folfox chemo, but had a hard time on treatment 2. I am on a similar treatment but without the oxaliplatin. It makes me gaggy, but I can do it. I gag so much the babies imitate me.
Karen, Lucy was hard to potty train at first but has become a great friend. She is so funny. She acts like a huge watch/guard dog and weighs in at 7 lbs. I have had tumors twice her size. LOL
I will stick around. I was gone for a long time. Partly due to being labeled colon cancer, but mostly because I had a hard time dealing with losing friends I grew to love like sisters. You all mean so much to me. Believe me when I say I could not have gotten thru these 3 years as well had I not found this forum.
Love, Marie
I haven't been to your "farm" lately because I can't seem to get FV to work. :-) Always good to see your face and hear from you. The treatments are one thing but FV is a great place to hang out escape. We all need an alternate reality now and then. Hugs
Marie,
Wishing you the best with the new treatment. How's that new puppy of yours?
Karen
Praying that this one makes a difference for you Marie. Hugs, Trudie
It is good to hear from you, sorry about your treatments I join you in praying for all. Love, Dawnlyn
I,m sorry to hear you are back on treatment Marie, I have often thought about you and I hope your latest chemo isn,t too harsh on you.
Love
Angie
Hi Marie,
I was thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. Are you on a new chemo? I am sorry to hear that this darn cancer isn't leaving you alone! I'll be praying for you. It is good to see your post! :)
Love,
Shelly
