High ESR levels used to diagnose reoccurance?

Mum aged 55 diagnosed March 2005 with OVCA stage 3. In remission since.

She had a blood test which came back with high levels of ESR.

Has anyone else had this test done before?

Could this mean her cancer is reoccuring?

CA125 of 26. Was over 500 when diagnosed in March 2005.

This is called a sedimentation rate and it is done to check if people have arthritis.  It is a test that elevates in the presence of inflammation.  It is not done for recurrace of OC.  They look at doubling of the CA 125, so if that is stable and not elevating than your mom is one of the lucky ones.

Just read your reply to me below, arthritis can make a person tired, and it can make counts counts go low.  I have arthrits long before OC and it can be draining, especially when it is active.  Is your mom in alot of pain?  Are they working her up for one type of arthrits or were they just checking her counts?  Your mom is lucky to have you, you are a great daughter.
