Hope to make you smile

I have a cute story to relate, which I hope will lift your spirits and make you smile.  My 7 yr. old grandson came over yesterday and told me that he was having a "special persons" day at school in April.  His brother had asked my husband to go as his special person, so I just assumed this grandson would follow suit.  He shocked me when he said that I was going to be his special person.  He had written a little bit about me, and wanted to share it with me for my approval. He cannot pronounce his "R's", so the "W's" that I write in this tale are supposed to be "R's - (Elmer Fudd version, I guess.)  Here goes: (I hope you have some tissue and your Depends on) "My Nona is vewy bwave.  She took lots of medicine to make hew sick so that it could make hew bettew.  She is cool....she weaws a wig. When I asked hew if she knew what the 3 "R's" are, she said:  waggae, wap and wock and woll. She nevew complains. (obviously he does not spend nights at our house). I love hew becasue she teaches me good mannews.  And, oh yeah, hew doctor said her cancew is in.....(are you ready???????)  "Emission".........After I nearly choked from emotion, I practically peed my pants.  All this innocence from a 7 year old.   It was just too wonderful a story not to share with all you ladies.  I hope it made you smile, and that we can all share in the contagiousness of his hope and promise. Also, he did ask me to brush my teeth, "because one ow two awe yellow"...(chemo has done a number on them).....and for those of us who think visually, I can attest that I am not a 63 year gypsy with an old gold tooth who wears a whacky wig and hums to Bob Marley while rapping to Eminem......but I do need to see a dentist!  Have agreat day........Love Judie:)

Well mate, if  you ever write a book... as I'm sure you have heaps of those stories.... that's one you surely should put into print. That's so adorable... and isn't it so natural? That's one thing about little kids....they call it as they see it. A bit like Aunty Helmar I think.. :-)
I'd love to see the faces of the other kids/mothers in class. Priceless. Hugs Judie.....Helen...

How completely precious!  That one is a keeper.  I'm sure there is a place on your refrigerator where that one can be posted!  Thanks for sharing this with us.  And, I'm so glad to hear you are still in "emission"!

From the mouths of babes! Stories like that remind me of some of the things my granddaughters have said and done. What would we do without them? Thanks Chris

That is so precious. Wish there was a place to have it in print (are there cancer magazines or something?). I think many families have been touched by cancer one way or another and could enjoy this story. Best of all, it's a true story.
