Hormones

Hormones

Some women have posted questions on loosing their sex drive. I haven't responded because I don't have an answer. I'm in the same dilemma.

This is interesting---

You know I am a firm believer that women should have their hormones checked. This disease is all hormonal and I believe that the bad estrogens are a cause of it. Progesterone is too low and estrogen is too high. Bad estrogens come from harmful environmental stuff--pesticides, plastic, gases from vinyl, formaldehyde (in everything), jet fuel, diesel fumes, (remember leaded gas)  etc. etc.

Everyone that doesn't have this disease why not get your hormones checked. I may do it after chemo just to see. I wish I had years ago. You can go to a good endocrinologist (blood test) or a naturopath with an all day urine test. Now don't let a doctor say the urine test doesn't work--HRT drugs are from horse urine (example).

Dear Helen:

You have a good point. I have seen patients on at least one or two occasions that was put on remission by using Tamoxifen alone or in combination. I also must have posted before that a Phase Two clinical trial using Tamoxifen and Goserelin (a hormone) produced a 50% positive response (clinical benefit) rate on patients that were mostly platinum-resistant. I won't hesitate recommending this for my wife just in case it's needed along the way.

Thanks
