Hi,
I lost 10 kilos in 10 days while in hospital recovering from my debulking surgery, food was the last thing i wanted or felt like. I would also suggest supplement drinks- the naturopath at the hospital got them for me- as i dont drink dairy i got the fruit varieties instead. Also i would suggest more meals for frequently for example even one mouthful at breakfast is better than nothing, then i might have one grape 2 hours later, gradually i built these amounts up. Try and get her to have something every 2 hours-even if only a mouthful. Its important to find things she likes/ feels like, fruit salad was my saviour in hospital.

If she's on chemo and taking steroids, that will probably help.  It will take awhile, but it should help her gain back what she's lost.

Hello, nice mom has you around worrying about her.  My doctor's recommended the drink Ensure.  Not only does it offer calories, but also many nutrients for the immune system too.  They come in different flavors, I prefer the chocolate and it tastes like chocolate milk.  We've seen it sold at every drug store, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club too.  There are other brands, like Boost, but I preferred the taste of Ensure.  Hope this helps.  Sending prayers to you and your mom.

Take care, Angie
