How much hope fo Mom

Hi -= My mother has been diagnoised with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer 2 weeks ago. Her CA125 was 4000. I know thats bad, and we will start chemo next week, should I brace myself that the chemo won't really help? Sounds stupid but still in shock...

We have stage 4 women who've been on this forum for several years.  There are no guarantees, of course, but if the doctors want to start chemo they're not calling it quits, and you shouldn't either.

The best way you can help your mom is to listen to her and help her get what she wants.  I'm really sensitive to the following point, and I'm sorry if this sounds rude:  "WE are not starting chemo. SHE is starting chemo."  You can be there for her, but some things she will be doing alone.  She's up to it if she wants it.

you are right, SHE is starting, we have gone thru so much in the past few years "we" is just habit, Thank you for your positive feedback, it helps :)
