I'm so glad to be of help - that helps me! I am also so glad you have a fiance that is taking this journey with you - it will tell you alot about the man you are to marry. I think my husband (of 20 years) is very scared. He's not really with me on this; he just says, get the surgery and let's move on. He does not like upset in his life. Yes, we have alot to work out after this is done!
Best to you (and that man!) and I hope you also find pain relief soon! Elizabeth
Thank you so much for your reply it has been very helpful. I had my fiance read your reply and he was so surprised by how much your story sounded like mine. Sometimes he does not realize how difficult this ordeal is for me, but he is really trying to. From my experience, I do agree that young doctors are willing to listen and consider symptoms more than the older seasoned doctors, who are stuck in some timewarp. I am really considering changing doctors.
I pray that your surgery goes well and that you are finally free from pain.
Thank you again,
xo

Hi Marge - I have been running around for over a year now with this horrendous pain and hope I can help you a bit. I am scheduled now for a complete (cervix too) hysto on Feb. 6. I have cysts on all my reproductive organs, including the cervix. I do believe that different ultrasounds show different things and I believe this because I think it depends on who does the test. I have had about four TVUs in the past couple months all showing the cysts on the ovaries, but some also showing fibroids, others showing endo (fibroids, basically), and some showing adeno (disease in the muscle of the uterus). I do have all of these, but not all tests showed all of it at once. If you get someone that, pardon me, moves the probe around better, I really think they get better views. How long have you had your cysts? The larger one, if you've had it for a long time, should really be looked at through lap and no doctor should belittle you - my advice is to change doctors. AND, if you read back on MOST of these posts, cysts DO cause pain - period, exlammation point, and everything in between!!!! I have about a 5 cm on my left ovary that is causing such horrendous pain on my already bad back - I can actually feel the pain shooting from the ovary into my back and down my groin and leg. I get twinges of that same pain from the right ovary that has cysts, but aren't that big yet. I think the cysts filled with blood are o.k, but the don't always flush with your cycle. It is the cysts with compartments (septated) that you should be careful of - they contain areas of solid matter. The ER sucks, I know, been there alot, but maybe they gave you a better view with your test so it would have been worth it.
I hope this helps and, again, my advice, with a doctor like yours and the "I don't give a sh.." attitude - find another doctor. I know it's hard; when I started all this a year ago, I went to the doctor who is actually doing the surgery now. He pissed me off with "they don't cause pain, blah, blah, blah"; now a year later I can barely walk and he now suspects alot of pathology (good or bad, don't know yet) with surgery. I am only having him do it because I do believe he is one of the best in his field as far as surgery goes and concentration, NOW, on getting me some relief. But he has got to learn that in the beginning this all could be avoided at my point now if only he would have done this last year. Why did they make me wait until I was in the horrendous pain, I don't know. My doc has been practicing for about as long as yours and we must teach them about some things before they retire and give advice to the next generation of doctors. One last point, I did see a young doctor before I went back to this doctor, and he did confirm that all of this is causing my pain and irritating my back terribly. But, because he is so young and I don't even know him, I went back to old faithful. So maybe there is hope for the new generation of gynos.
Best of luck to you........ Elizabeth
