I am actually going through the same thing. I had an ultrasound yesterday and they saw a tumor. It could be a fibroadenoma they said. Mine does not move either. I have a biopsy this Wednesday. I hope all turns out well for you. It is so scary going through this!!!!! I had hoped for a cyst as I have ovarian cysts for the last 3 months.
Take two Tylenol before you go. Have them mark the lump with a sticker(usually trianglar). And ask if they pulled in the axillary tissue. It may require two extra pictures but it is worth it. They will not care (should not care) about yourconcerns. I do not mind when I am posed with questions that the average person off the street should not know. Good luck!!
Wow. This just isn't fair. Everyone already said all the feelings I felt when I read this...I'm just so sorry for you and there's not a whole bunch more to say. This stinks.
(((((Dawn)))))
Hey sis, that is what we are here for! Anytime and any question - we love ya sis and we want you to have the best. I am glad you caught it and now get that new sonogram that they do for breasts. It will give a more accurate picture. Maybe it developed because of the hormones ?!? Anyway good for you keeping in tune with your body. I am praying for you girl!

Thanks Dawn! Whhhewww this stuff all ain't for sissies eh!
I talked to my doctor today and he said I can stay on the Estraderm for now (could have been the sobbing lol)but he wants some tests done on my leg.
The breast ultrasound is what detected Suzanne Summer's breast cancer, after she had just had a regular mammogram that it did not show up on...she talks about it in her book on hormones.... I am also looking into a type of thermal imaging scan I heard about, would you believe it comes to town a few times a year (like the circus!) you pre-book it, it is not covered, doesn't hurt, costs a few hundred $$ and evidentally detects problems long before the traditional screening methods.
Incidentally, the mammogram I just had didn't hurt at all...I used to have such sore breasts but it stopped right after the hyster... My doctor wanted one done as a comparison for later as he feels the estro changes breast tissue composition. I have read that cutting out caffeine a few days before helps (that's not gonna happen with me!)
No kidding I can tell you guys waaaaaaaay more than anyone around me here... they just look at me with this glazed expression....
When did you get your mammogram scheduled for? We're here with ya Girlfriend
Loads of love and prayers, Katie
Dawn, even if it is found to be a malignancy, remember that 87% of women survive breast cancer! I pray that someday the overall survival rates for OVCA can reach that high!
Hi everybody...
Mary29...that's weird about the posts "over there"...they sent me an email and gave me a big B****H slap for stuff I said.
Yeah whatever... I used to be a werewolf but I got OUWWWVER it!
I didn't like the guy telling me my ribs were going to sink to my hips. I feel bad enough about having a hyster as it is.
MaryV: I can't believe you have to go through yet another thing, I am glad at least it's Mayo. God what a worry.
Dawn: I am so sorry to hear about the &^%$ lump...again, what a worry... and Pleeeese don't apologize, we care about each other and I feel bad to hear you say that.... in fact, can I barge in here and ask you something? Can you tell me about your experience with HRT and DVT? Today I got the worst pain in my calf, I was just sitting in the car.... came on very suddenly. Anyway went home ripped off the Estro patch (just in case) and took two Aspirins. Felt OK in a few hours (stopped hurting). I would just bet it is the start of deep vein thrombosis, it was not a sports related thing....it felt deep and it throbbed and it came and went...I could feel it pulsing....my leg didn't get red or hot or swell though.. WHAT A DRAG, I love(d) my Estrogen. Thanks Dawn and geez good luck with the darn lump...
Thanks again everybody, Sheeesh eh, Love, Katie
You're so not selfish!! It's great that you can come here and get the support that you need. Go get that lump checked out and let us know how you get on, okay?
Dawn, I am sure they will do the newer ultrasound mammogram, if I am saying it correctly. And you are so very proactive that if something not right was starting...well, you know that you wouldn't even give it the time of day! It does not have a fighting chance. You are always on top of things. So, good for you to go in as soon as you can...peace of mind is soooo worth it, as you well know.
And, you were right to post here. You know that creepy things can happen when you stray from this health forum. By the way, they had removed the old posts from the other forum (they had the outline over the past few days, but not the postings when you tried to access them) and I just checked for the heck of it...guess what? They are back!
Stay with us, girl, no matter the problem.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Mary
