IF YOU THINK IT'S CANCER...READ THIS!

I was having UTI symptoms but with extreme lower back pain and constipation...I went to the doc Wednesday and some young doc rushed me through with a prescription for bactrim after I had a UA...This morning, I woke up with more intense lower back pain then ever...I listened to my instincts, and went to another doctor at the same place, a woman this time, who I spent 2 1/2 hours with off and on doing tests....another UA which showed some traces of blood (although I do have my period) which prompted her to believe it my be kidney stones...I had a CT Scan of my kidneys done right after the UA,....to my surprise, the doctor said I have a uterine fibroid mass outside of my uterus!  I also have a kidney stone, but a small one that the doc said is too small to cause my symptoms...IF YOU HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS, IT MAY BE A BENIGN UTERINE FIBROID:

3 months or more of increased flow during menstruation and/or longer menstruating days than usual
frequent urination and feeling of urgency to urinate (which could be misdiagnosed as a UTI or bladder infection)
constipation or inability to completely expel bowel movements without laxatives or stool softener
constant lower back pain on one or both sides that feels like it's 'moving' around and varies in intensity

These are my exact symptoms...all explained because the fibroid mass is pushing against my bladder (causing the need or feeling to urinate frequently), pushing against my colon (which is causing the constipation or blockage from having bowel movements), lower back pain...which for me is mostly on the right side where the fibroid is, pain that the fibroid causes itself that usually presents as lower back pain and finally, heavier bleeding, which means your fibroid is slowly bleeding out - strangely, that's a good thing, because if it stops bleeding it could mean the fibroid tissue has lost it's blood and will 'die' and possibly break off near the uterus and 'travel' causing a shift in severity of pain and a fever....all of this after going with my gut and seeking another doctor appointment 2 days after starting antibiotices...the doc I saw today told me to 'stop taking' the antibiotics because I obviously don't have a UTI - so glad I went back today

My fibroid mass is "not yet" big enough for surgical removal according to my doc...I have a gyno appt. Monday and will learn more..in the meantime, I'm relieved to have a diagnosis and options to treat my symptoms and/or have the mass shrunk with hormone therapy or opt for surgical removal or other procedure should it grow or my symptoms become worse....these are VERY common in women, but most fibroids go unnoticed until they grow large enough to present symptoms such as mine....do you have these symptoms??? Run, don't walk to your doc and ask for a CT SCAN of your kidneys....it will show OR rule out both kidney stones and/or uterine fibroids in one scan.
