Thank you so much for your comments and well wishes. What a journey this has been!
I was given IMRT in addition to chemo because I was found to have uterine cancer at the time of my diagnosis of ovarian cancer. As I understand it, it is not a first line of defense, as it isn't too successful at killing ovarian cancers. It's successful a treating uterine cancer, though, and I'm glad I had it.
If you do decide to have it, please know that I thought it was absolutely simple. Just had to stay away from a lot of foods at the time. I was never tired, and there is no pain or discomfort of any type.
Best of luck to you.
If you Google "ovarian cancer and IMRT" you will find lots of info...... but, try not to scare yourself! This disease is very scary and each of us reacts diffenently to each and every treatment. You are much more than a statistic.
Peace.
