My cousin, a rather large and jolly guy we all love, just had hernia surgery last Wednesday. Now, his was very large--the size of a football, so they had to do a lot of cutting. He was pretty sore the first few days and had to use painkillers, but he is improving the last few days. He too, had other issues. He had gout and gall bladder surgery awhile back, but he made it through this last hernia surgery--and you will, too.
Hang in there. It's tough, but we are tougher--even though we don't always feel it.
Well, girl, you have been through the wringer. At least the source of your pain has been found and soon it will be gone. Sorry that you have to have surgery again so soon. I know it is tough on you and your family. You know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya!

Louella, you need to stop at the ER and bestow a blessing on the doctor who diagnosed your hernia. That condition is most likely responsible for nearly ALL of the symptoms and pain that you have suffered from your previous surgery. I've forgotten whether you are a "Skinny Minnie" or a big girl like me, but if you are big girl like me, then detecting a hernia can be difficult, especially in a woman recovering from a major abdominal surgery. It is little wonder the previous surgeon did not detect the condition in post-ops; of course, it is possible the condition did not develop immediately after the surgery anyway. Straining weakened and recovering abdominal muscles can cause a hernia to form.
I've known a number of people who've had hernias and considered that surgery quite easy compared to their other surgeries, which included at least one hysto and two appendectomies, so maybe this repair will be a breeze compared to what you've endured so far. You know that you have my prayers. I truly look forward to the day that you can post that you are WELL - fully and completely well!
That is terrible. I have a hernia that occured with my C section and re-occured with my hysterectomy. I did not have the pain that you are talking about. If it is from the hernia I would think that is why they want to go back in so fast. If it is the same as mine it is a hernia of bowel coming through the muscle wall. There is always a chance of it twisting or strangulating because of the hernia. It doesn't make it any easier for you to have another surgery so fast but I would say the doc is probably concerned enough to go back in the make sure you don't have more problems with it. Hope all goes well.
