Immunotherpy

I wanted update you on the clinical trial I am now eligible for. This is an update from a recent post.  I met with the lead doctor at MSKCC - the trial is as follows.  http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01223235  it's difficult decision as the Alimta has stabilized me so far but I also know this trial is pretty tolerable and the Alimta can only be effective for so long. Do you have any opinions on immunothapy and this specific regimen - thanks for your advise over the years

thank you so much for your update.
Immunotherapy has been looked at for over 20 years in ovarian cancer.Most of the results (vaccines,interferon, etc) have been disappointing.

However, research continues.I see that this trial uses avastin. It may be that this is an ideal time to try a clinical trial.You can always go back on the alimta.

on the other hand, you should ask what the side effects are. This looks like both a  phase I trial which means it is a toxicity study and a phase II study which means looking for response.
