In Raven Ladys absence lets have a PARTY

I miss the CYBER parties, don't you???? Mary is probably out on the lake. I have some hot chicken wings fresh off the grill to share. Lets make the topic for tonight Favorite vacation spots.  Mine is a time share in Gatlingburg Tennesee, close to the Smokey Mts, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge and so much early settler history. We were there at Christmas time and the town was like a Christmas tree, the little shops were full of goodies. Dollywood was old time country and gospel music, toured 150 year old settlements, the museum in the Smokey Mt Nat park was fabulous.  Showed a film about the history of Tennesee, Indians, Hill people, wild life and the flowers.  Take a dip in the hot tub and take a drink off the bar, I made a pitcher of Tom Collins.  Everyone is welcome, shake off the blues and get HAPPY.

One favorite vacation spot for us has to be Banff, Alberta, I guess, because we can get there in an hour from here.  The mountains are huge, but I have always found them rather cold, dark and ominous.  The Banff Springs Hotel (now a Fairmont) is fabulous and has an amazing spa and beautiful grounds.   An hour or so west is the Chateau Lake Louise (also a Fairmont) situated on an incredible blue lake.   A few years ago we stayed there at Christmas time, the lake had frozen crystal clear overnight.  You could see way way down to the bottom as you skated!

I have only been to one Cyber party but it was awesome! I am sitting down to pay bills but this is a much better option LOL! Let's see favorite vacation spots...I gotta say the Jersey shore. I've partied in Sea Isle, walked the boardwalk in Ocean City, day trips with my sister to LBI, bar hopped in North Wildwood, avoid the slots in Atlantic City, and relaxed in Cape May. I am now enjoying it with my own family as a mommy. I absolutely love it. I don't care to take a plane anywhere...a 2 hour drive to any beach is all I need. The pounding of the ocean, the hum of activity, the noisy sea gulls, or the quiet evenings are all I need. I can't wait to visit again this summer. So many memories past, present and future. This has to be better than paying bills.  I liked my time share week at Whistler also, so pretty there and the drive from portland was fantastic.  I do the baby sitting for my kids so they can ski, so that is why most of my time share times are near mountains in the winter. Used to get a box of salt water taffy every year from an Aunt that visited the boardwalk, delicious.

Just woke up, clear sunny beautiful day..Today is my aqua aerobics lesson and looking forward to jumping into the pool.
Wish I could have a glass of Tom Collins with you but have to settle for my cup of Cafe Latte...Never been to Dooliwood, only went to Vegas where I caught a few shows.  My favorite vacation spot??? A speck in the Pacific ocean...It's an island in Fiji that has white sand beach 360 degrees and only one small hotel with no radio, tV and telephone.  It was heavenly and so relaxing that I extended my stay by 3 days.  Had kaba for the first time, it's an alcoholic drink made frorm a root and boy did I have a great time!!

It's sunny and clear sky this morning and I am getting ready for my usual sunday morning aqua aerobics class.  Just had coffee but I would much rather have one of your Tom Collins...
My favorite vacation spot was a speck in the Pacific Ocean, an island of Fiji, surrounded with white sand beach, no tv/radio/telephone and only one small hotel...Was so relaxing and beautiful that i extended my stay 3 more days.

I actually just got back from vacation. We traveled the 10 hours last Sunday, and just got back Saturday evening. We went to the coast of Mississippi. My sister in law knows someone with a house on the coast that he rents out, and he let us stay for a week.  We had a blast. I'm taking my camera to my moms today. Hopefully she can download and email me some pictures so I can post on the other site. I was a week to remember.

We don't have beachs or mountains in Iowa, but you are welcome anytime to come and see miles and miles of corn fields.  I live just 20 miles from The Field of  Dreams.  Just for the fun of it  google   "uses of corn",  read what that plant means to the world. I guarantee you will be surprised.  In my town we have the largest cereal factory in the world, Quaker Oats, we also have ADM corn sweeteners, and 2 ethenol plants.  55% of our corn goes to feed other countries.  I have to go to a zoo to see those happy Roo's,  maybe someday I will get to visit there , sure hope so.

G'day Girls,.... how about coming 'DownUnder'. It's Autumn here now, so not too hot for those of you who may not like our hot sun. I live near the Great Ocean Road, where there are some lovely beaches. You may have seen Bell's Beach on your Tvs... that's where they have the World Surfing Champs. at Easter. We don't get snow in this area, so it's fairly mild throughout the year. Nice to sit and sip on a hot chocolate, while looking out over the ocean.
I hope you are all feeling well...enjoying each day as it comes along, and looking forward to all of the tomorrows that we are going to have. :-)

Hello Star......nice to hear from you. I love corn...corn on the cob with butter yum!! .... and popcorn of course....and I have cornflakes for breakfast with blueberries. If I can get some good time in between this wretched chemo, I'd love to go to the U.S. It would be nice to catch up with some of you girls... and if any of you come this way... I hope we can meet. :-)
My daughter was in the U.S. in 05 and loved it. She often tells me to pack my bags and start travelling before this lousy ovca catches me. *laugh*.....

How is Leslee doing? I hope she feels well, and is doing good.
