Yeah on your giving up cigarettes! I am so glad that ordeal is in my past; I will never, ever have another cigarette because I never want to go through "quitting" again.
After I quit I would say "Only way I'm going to smoke again is if I find out I have terminal cancer"........ahem!
Well, after I sat down in my car at the gyn's office, after being told I have ovc/ca, I heard myself saying "okay, where is the nearest Casey's convenience store". Man, I wanted a cigarette.
No, I didn't go buy a pack; I was afraid I might survive this and then I'd have to quit again, or my youngest son would be devistated. Didn't especially like either scenerio.
I quit in '97 on January 2nd; haven't had one since (but I still keep a pack in the freezer; 8 years old now) "just in case". You know, you just never know! Actually this is my way of being in control; I am chooling not to smoke as I could if I wanted. Stupid, I know.
I am impresed and happy for you; Peace kiddo....it will get easier with time. Congrats! dian
Just a note - way to go on the nicotine. If you need any help, I quit cold turkey 18yrs ago!!!!
By the way, the soy is helping the night sweats - I just don't sleep much. If this last any longer I'll talk to the doc and see what to do. Before surgery, I walked at least a mile and a half a day, I am hoping to get back to that and maybe that will help.

Boy the sleep issue really stinks. I went through it severely after radiation for thyroid cancer affected my ovaries. It is starting to get better but now if I have my ovaries out.....
Black cohawsh helps, teas, etc. I have a script for Lunesta that I use once or twice a week - after I have had several bad nights. It helps some as well. It takes time to get through it but I hear it gets better.
Such fun!! I guess I could take up knitting or something to pass the time. I am not on hormones, so I don't know if that would help. Thanks for your input!! :-)
