Intermenstrual bleeding to NO bleeding

Since April, I've been experiencing intermenstrual bleeding every month that begins exactly 10 days after my normal period ended, been moderate in amt, and lasts about 4 days each month. During this time, my regular periods had been normal(lasting 5-6 days, with the first 3 days heavier in amt). Fast-forward to July 1st: I got my regular period on 7/1 and within 2 days, with both days consisting of heavy bleeding before it abruptly, unexpectedly, and abnormally stopped. So, knowing my pattern of menstrual cycles lately, the intermenstrual bleeding should've started around 7/13. I had a sonohystogram done on 7/11 and the findings showed a "growth" on my uterus(that the dr suspects is a polyp) and a complex cyst on my right ovary, & 2cm area of free-fluid in pelvis. Until I have the polyp removed(not until 8/23), the doctor said I would continue to have the intermenstrual bleeding. It is now 7/23, 20 days since my last regular, but abnormal, period ended and I still have not had any bleeding. Isn't this odd, considering the polyp(and possibly the cyst) is still there? I have had ALOT of lower pelvic pain, cramping, sharp pains in my LL pelvic area, diarrhea(that just came out of nowhere), and occassional thick, clear vaginal discharge, but no bleeding. Should I be worried & placing a call to the doctor again?

Hi There,

You are having a good evaluation. a D&C is the right thing to do. If you are having increasing pain now, you should definitely call your doctor. You may have a twisting of the ovarian cyst (torsion).
It is unlikely that the polyp is gone. Bleeding can be intermittent.
best wishes to you
