Is it a minor cancer?

Got two fibroids, larger 4cm.  Edometrium distorted by fundal fibroids.  Edometrim disorted and unremarkable at 5mm thichkness.  Right ovary has two cystis masses 1 x 65cm;  1 x 52 mm both contain isolated septations with no definite mural nodularity.  Left ovary contains 31m simple cyst with no free fluid.  51.

O&G Registrar letter bothers me as first I knew about being encouraged that overall the likelihood of this being a significant cancer is quite low as certainly didn't get that impression from appointment.  Ca-125 at 86 he says is midly elevated. CT scan inconclusive but noted complex ovarian masses messentracic disease.  Endometium phyl biopsy normal.

Hi There,

CA 125 is a blood test for a protein that is produced by malignancies of the ovaries and uterus. It can also be present in benign conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids. The most likely reason for a CA 125 of 86 is your fibroids.  I would suggest a repeat ultrasound in 3 months and a repeat CA 125 at that time. If there is any question that the cysts are growing or the CA 125 is going up, I would recommend a laparoscopy to check. You do not currently have a diagnosis of cancer. If you did, the appropriate treatment is to remove the ovaries and uterus.
best wishes to you
