Is it nolonger working?

Hello Dr.  My Mom has had 2 cycles treatments with weekly taxol.  3 weeks on 1 off.  Her ca-125 has dropped a lot.
Over this weekend she's accumulated lots of ascites which caused severe abdominal swelling.  We had it drained yesterday of 5 lt.  Now Im wondering if the weekly taxol is nolonger working or can this just be part of aging cancer.  Can taxol still be working even though ascites has accumulated.  She last had it drained before starting taxol about 2.5 months back.
