Is it normal for blood to come out when you poop?

Well, for the past couple of days everytime i poop blood seems to be in the toilet.  It has only happened twice but i'm sort of worried.  The blood looks like menstural blood but I have already been on my period about 2 weeks ago.  It doesn't hurt at all and I dont' have trouble going to the bathroom.  Can you please tell a couple reasons why this might be happening? Also, if it is a serious problem?

* I hope it's not something serious because I'm only an eighth grader....

You need to talk to your Mom about this. It probably isn't anything too serious, but your mom needs to know, so she can take you to the doctor, and you can find out what's wrong. It's a scary thing for an eighth grader to have this happen. If you feel you can't talk to your mom....then talk to an Aunt, older cousin, one of Mom's friends, Dad, or even a school counselor. Because you are so young, I don't want to speculate (guess) as to what is wrong with you, if anything. Please, talk to someone, honey.

Shari is right. You need your mom to call your doctor. Please talk to a parent or some responsible adult today. We don't mean to scare you, but only a doctor can decide if this is a sign of something serious. Take care of yourself and you will be fine. Marie

These ladies are right. You should talk to an adult and get examined. However, please don't be stressed out about this. While blood with poop is not "normal", it's not at all uncommon. Most people experience it at some point in their lives. The mostly likely cause is either a hemorrhoid or even more likely an anal fissure (which is basically just a crack in the skin on the anus).

Please talk to an adult you trust, and please try not to worry.
