Is there anyone out there. HELP

rkk
No one is answering my messages.  Please if you know anything on calcification or where I can look please let me know.  I have looked at libraries, internet and called hospitals.  No luck.I just had an US done and it showed I had a cyst containing debris in my left ovary and punctated calcification in my right ovary. I am concerned abt both. I can't find anything in here abt calcification in the ovary. I just had a ca125 done and it was fine. Does anyone know anything on calcification and what should I do from here? Is calcif linked to ovarian cancer? Should I do something with the cyst with debris? It is 2.1x1.3x1.4. The calcif is 4mm. Also my endom canal is 11mm. I am mostly concerned of the calc b/c can't find anything except that calcif causes abnormal cell growth. I have all of the symptoms for OC and have for over a year. I have complained my gyno. I was told 2 yrs ago I have IBS. There are days the pain feels as if I am going to pass out or die. I have painful cramps all the time, worst at my period. My legs feel like I have arthritis, especially inner thighs. I am tired all the time. I have no drive and I am a type A person. Can someone please help. I am so concerned abt the calcif because I can't find any info anywhere on it.

Hi ChrissiM
I don't know if you realize it, but you posted on a 2006 string of posts.

If we can help you or you want to chat, please start a new topic.

I found it interesting what you said about MS and the new links, my niece has been newly diagnosed with MS and is having a rough time.

I agree with what you said to that lady who posted in 2006, "Just be smart and go with your gut" how true that is.

Please let us know how you're doing.

Antything that the Dr. is calling debris or calcifications on a cyst? Get it out!!! Why leave anything in there that can eventually turn on you. I was just diagnosed with a dermoid (gross thought) and there are a few other calcifications on some other little cysts as well. No- they don't go away. But he did say most dermaoinds will turn cancerous eventually- thy are solid and don't jnust re-absorb as many of them do. I have multiple sclerosis also and my neurologist said they are studying new links between those and their effect on the central nervous system. He just kept repeating :"get it out"....I am waiting for my blood work- all the CA screens- but my next U/s in a few weeks will show if it is still there- and that will be the determining factor- make sure you are completely trusting of your doctor and if ther is any question- get a second opinion- but don't just wait. Any questions about these "possiblly" being something- get them out of you! We as women have so many things that can develop into cancer. I wish you the best sweetie!!! Just be smart and go with your gut!

Thanks for your time and for settling me down.  I didn't mention that I had a large amount of mucous that came out during a bowel movement.  Every time I have a bowel movement I have a glob of mucous that comes out of my vagina.  Yesterday it was pink.  My cramps have been bad for the last two days and I believe it is during ovulation.  I was just wondering if the cyst burst and that was blood from it.  I guess we will see in the near future whether  the cyst is still there.  Sorry to be so graphic.  I have this discharge at every bowel movement not just during ovulation.  Has anyone ever had that before?  It is usually a clear mucous.

Dr.s usually won't consider removing the cyst until it has reached 5cm that is why you have the watch and wait going on now.  Keep us posted!

Thanks to all of you and your guidance.  I didn't mean to be rude, I just assumed no one has heard of calcif.  I sure can't find anything on it.  It seems as though everything is in the internet.  Anyway, I met with another gyno and he said calcif never goes away, but he is not concerned about it.  He also said the cyst with debris is too small to be concerned(2.1x1.4x1.2) and to either do laporoscopy or wait 3 months and do another US.  I will keep you posted.  I quess we will wait and see.  Thanks again for all of your help.

Hang in there girl!  Just remember that 99% of ovarian cysts are benign!  If it is a dermoid, then not to worry as they are usually benign.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Hi there!  I just had a large endometrioma removed...but on an MRI it showed up as a calcification, which led my doc to believe it was a dermoid.  It was only through surgery that she discovered what it actually was.  Apparently, the MRI can be wrong when it comes to these types of things...but the concept of the calcification is somewhat common, and the general opinion is that most of these things are benign.  Is your doc recommending surgery?  Mine told me pretty much from the start that I would probably need to have the growth removed, regardless of what it was.  Best of luck to you - this forum is a great place to talk to others about these things.

Hey kiddo....I responded at your first post....please go back and check it out....just to help a little here.....a plain old ovarian cyst can produce the same symptoms as ovarian cancer......your odds of having ovarian cancer is 99 to 1....especially with the cysts that fall into the "calcification" category.....take a deep breath and clear your head.
Right now fear is driving you and that is very scary.....what I read did say that most with these cysts do have elective surgery to remove them.  Many women here have had dermoid cysts removed and can talk extensively with you on this matter.
Contrary to what you have thus far experienced, there is a great deal published about calcified ovaries or cysts.  You just need to familiarize yourself with the terminology.
Again...take a deep breath.....sit back and try to relax....there are many of us here who will gladly walk the walk with you.....continue educating yourself and return to talk with us.....we will be waiting.
I will be listening for you.
Peace.

I beleive calcifications are usually in dermoid cysts...the ones with hair, oil, teeth, etc. The teeth show up on MRI's and Xrays as calcifictions. These are not any more dangerous than any other cysts.

If you other gals can jump in here...several have had these dermoids but I don't know of anything else that causes the calcifications.
