Is this possible ovarian cancer or am I just being paranoid?

Hello all:

I'm 54, post menopausal for about 2 months with no symptoms. I saw my Gyno for my annual exam, and told him that my period started a few days prior. He and I both thought it was the steroid pack that I had taken 2 months prior for neck pain. However, he scheduled an ultra-sound just to be sure. Well, they found a  and a . I've scoured the web for information, but unfortunately it's all over the place - it could be nothing to highly cancerous.

Except for the bleeding, which stopped right on schedule like a normal period, I have no other symptoms. No bloating, no constipation, no pain, no fatigue, nothing. And no one on either side of my family has had cancer. I don't see the doctor for a follow-up until Tuesday next week.

Does anyone have information or, God forbid, experience with this? I'm not exactly freaking out, but would like to have a better handle on what exactly this might be. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Sammie

The doctor will have to answer the questions. They are making guesses from what they see. Could be they are looking at normal bowel loop, could be uterine fibroid which is common, or some other mass. Mass or lesion or cyst do not mean cancer off the bat. It is just the words they use.

On other side they are seeing a lesion in the right Ovary which could be anything. Usually benign.

The problem is your dealing with internal organs and doctors sometimes can't tell. I have learned not to worry until I have to. I just had a lump in my breast scare last month. I suggested it was a normal lymph node. After all these doctors worrying and lots of tests it was a normal lymph node,

They have all this great equipment but most of the time they ahve to check.

It is good they check. I check things out but pay the doctors to worry,

Sorry about that....didn't notice that my note didn't include what they found:

1) Questionable 2.2 CM right adnexal mass versus exophytic uterine
fibroid versus bowel loop.
2) 8 mm cystic lesion within the right ovary.

Again, any information or advice would be helpful....Thanks all....
