Just informed of multiple ovarian cysts

I just had an ultrasound yesterday and the technician told me I had 3 cysts on my left ovary.  The largest was 2.5 cm and the other 2 were not much smaller.  I had one cyst (also 2.5 cm on my left ovary) back in April and my Dr prescribed the Ortho Evra patch to try to shrink it.  The cyst was gone when I had another US in late May.  I switched to the Nuvaring in July because the patch gave me horrible headaches and I didn't want to have to change it every week.  I had no problem with the Nuvaring until late September when I started having breakthrough bleeding.  My dr ordered another US to measure the thickness of the uterine wall.  It was normal per the technician, but she told me I had the cysts.  I had my right ovary removed 5 yrs ago due to a very large endometrioma. (I don't recall its size)  I'm not TOO worried about this because I have two kids and the chance of it being cancer is slim at my age (I'm almost 30) Has anybody else ever had this or anything similar?  I thought hormones usually helped cysts.  My results will not get to my Dr until late next week, after a radiologist reads them.

I hope you are still checking this posting.  I was also diagnosed with several (4) ovarian cysts when I was just a few weeks pregnant.  I went to a specialist who said that the cysts were the size of softballs.  There was not a doctor or technician who could not believe that I was not on fertility drugs.  I ended up having to have the cysts removed along with my ovary and fallupian tube due to a torsion.  There was also alot of blood clotting.  I too was on the Ortho Evra Patch prior to becoming pregnant and discovering the cysts.  Since so many doctors/techs couldn't believe I wasn't on fertility drugs, I checked out what is in them and found there is an agent that masks estrogen already present in the body which causes your body to produce more estrogen.  In light of recent studies on the patch that report that the amount of estrogen released into the blood stream is 25% higher than originally thought, I think that the patch is actually responsible for the cysts.  (I have no medical history of cysts prior to this incident.)  I talked to a lawyer and they are going to look into it.  Call 1-800-LAW-INFO if even think there is a remote chance that the patch could have actually been responsible for your cysts as well.
