Hi,
I went back to work after approx aweek on all 2 or 3 occasions, I was very careful though not to do any heavy lifting as Ireno said.

Hi Judy,
I had laparoscopic surgery for my cyst as well. I knew they were also taking the ovary and tube. Also had a D&C for some fluid in the uterus and to check on a fibroid which I shouldn't even have at my age.

Anyway, it really wasn't too bad ... The worst problem was bending over.. I have one of those "grabby things" on a long pole in case I dropped something.. Just remember to drink lots and lots of water the day before if  you're allowed.. Also, (and ask your Dr. or the nurses about this) but I take metamucil on a regular basis so I made sure to take that after the procedure but someone said their Dr. said that was not a good idea.. so make sure it's o.k. Also, I ate prunes and took stool softener. Those drugs make me more constipated than I usually am!! I knew up front about the drugs effects and no way did I want to do any "straining" ..My stitches came out in one week, and 2 weeks should be fine but everyone is so different.. Best of luck and keep us posted.. When is this happening??--- Sandy

I had laparascopic surgery to get rid of my 10 cm cyst. I'd say the first 2 days were the most uncomfortable (tender incisions and lots of tugging at my innards). After that improvement was quick. I did go back to work in a week but my volunteers kind of pampered me - no chasing eagles or lifting 50 lb sacks of food. That's OK. By the 2nd week I felt great.

Two weeks should do it but everyone is different and yes it is usually outpatient.  I had a mucinous cystadenoma removed along with my right ovary and tube laparascopically on the 26th and I'm going back to work on Monday.  I have a desk job (so no heavy lifting or too much moving around)  and other than some tiredness, I'm expecting be fine.  I did have to sign a consent allowing them to do a laparotomy (open surgery) in the event they met with complications but fortunately that did not happen.

Good luck to you - it's really not that bad.
