Large ovarian mass

Hi,

I am 20 years old and have polycystic ovaries. When i was 18 i went to the doctor concerned about a large 'bump' that when i lay down was very prominent. I went for an ultrasound scan and it was discovered that i had a cyst on my right ovary. The cyst was large 12 inches by 6.5 inches. I had it removed by laparoscopy. When the biopsy was done on the mass it was found that the mass malignant and if i had left it much longer the cells would have had chance to mature properly. I was told that i was very young to have this and i have still not been fully discharged as i go for check ups every 3 months. As an extra point my mother was diagnosed with cancer of the endometrium at 45 years old. Why is it that we were both considered young for this type?

Hi there,
you need a copy of your records with the actual name of the tumor
you should ask for the:

operative notes
pathology reports
radiology reports

you should also ask your mother if your could have a copy of her records so that other doctors who taker care of you have a firm family history

once you have all those records, i would be happy to try to interpret them for you
