Latest Update on Chris - Crecco

I spoke with Chris earlier today, and she's hanging in there, but still not feeling too good.  She's had both lungs drained again in the past week, which makes breathing easier.  But with everything else going on, she's still dealing with a lot.  Days when she's well enough to be up for any length of time, she still can't sit at the computer and post for very long.  But, she is still bound and determined she'll be in Chicago next month!  She's looking into the possibility of going to a major cancer center to see if they can do anything for her.  She and her doctor will be discussing that this week. She's at her mom's right now, which is a good thing.  I'm glad to know she's not alone right now.  She knows we're all thinking about her and praying for her, and she is very thankful for that.  So let's continue to do that.  She's still one of the strongest fighters out there!

Of course she has my love and prayers. I wish I could do more to make her feel better. Glad her Mom is a help and comfort. Not all Moms are like that. Thank you for letting us know.

New update - Chris is back in the hospital.  She was having issues with her small bowel, and they thought she might have a blockage.  She is also in a lot of pain from the metastasis on her liver.  Thankfully, there is not a blockage, but her intestines are stretched out in places, causing inflammation.  She is being treated with pain medication, and is feeling much better.  She may get to go home today with morphine.  She said she'd let me know if she does get to go home.

This is breaking my heart. When is enough enough? C'mon doctors - get it together and help Chris feel better so she can spend some time at home.

I saw a get well card today (had to pick one for a friend of mine having heart surgery). One had a plate of strange food. It said, "When you can identify the food, it's time for them to send you home."

Chris, you are most certainly in my prayers although that hardly seems like enough...I wish there was so much more I could do for you.
I wish I could meet you in Chicago, but it looks like I won't be able to attend...just too many residual complications from my surgery. I so badly wish I could go, even if all I got to do was give you a big hug :)

Chris did get to go home.  I haven't heard from her in the last two days, but I will check on her tonight.  She plans to get online and post as soon as she's up to it.  She knows you all care, and she appreciates it very much!

Just got off the phone with our Chris..she is very tired, and doc put her on a water pill, as she is swelling in abdoman and legs. She is still staying at mom's, but says "sleeps most of the time. Trying to eat to keep her strength up, but says nothing tastes good".
  Let her know you were all thinking of her, and she is still determined to get to Chicago.
