Left ovary removed bad pain

Left ovary removed bad pain

Hi Ladies,
A Happy and HEALTHY New year to you all!
I had my 1st surgery in August, the gyno could not operate, I had a left ovarian tumor sticking to the bladder and intestine and kidney with alot of adhesions all over my intestines. He sent me to a oncologist at a hospital far from where I live .I went in for mt 2nd surgery on Dec.4th I had my left ovary with a baseball size tumor and falopian tube removed along with ALOT of adhesions all over my intestines and colon removed. Thank God it isnot cancerous the tumor is benign and the adhesions are endometriosis stage 4. The worse part was the 47 staples when I woke up the next morning and I vomitted from the morphine, I never had such pain. The doc did a incision like you would for a hysterectomy cause he wasnot sure if I was getting one or not, thank God I did not.
Now for the past 2 weeks I keep getting these stabbing sharp pains where the ovary was has anyone ever got this?
Thanks!
God bless!

Angelwings, sorry for all that you have been through.  You are an inspiration to so many.  I always referred to my healing pains after surgery as "phantom pains."  Sharps stabs like you describe and you never know when they come, etc...  Perhaps they are the tissues attemtpting to heal back (no adhesions allowed please)and I have experienced these after my laparotomy, two c-sections, and now gallbladder surgery.  I still feel "tender" behind my GB incisions almost six months later.  If your pain is constant or very often I would advise a call to the doctor.  I am praying you heal wonderfully and don't forget to "image and command" those troublesome new adhesions to not form.  Hope you are able to take it easy.  Hopefully it's just the body's way of reminding us it doesn't like being cut.  Frustrating when we have no choice in the matter.  Hope 2007 brings you rapid healing and much happiness.

i too have these sharp pains(had both ovaries removed on the 11/27)my opinion is they are they nerve endings comming back to life.I could be wrong. Also get like a tugging sensation on the left end, which i put down to the internal stitching dissolving gradually. Hope you feel better soon but its still early days.Dawn

When the nerve ends are cut, they continue to send messages to the brain. Nerve Jangling is what we call it. The entire nervous system is tied together  and when some are severed they all react. Some nerves find new connections, others do not. My brother felt his amputated leg for years.  The main thing to remember after surgery though is to prevent the adhesions from forming. An ice pack to the back of the neck, sometimes eases the Jangling.

I had my surgery on 11/21 and I also have those stabbing pains. And I get this pain like something is pulling something in my groin area.  Please God don't let there be adhesions forming.
